In Memory of George Carlin
(May 12, 1937 - June 22, 2009)
I always admired George Carlin because he was funny and genuinely intellectually penetrating at the same time, and I was flattered when he wrote me in the 1990's. He had read Jurassic Park and wanted to use some of the material about "Destroying the Planet" in his act. Of course I agreed.
Over the years he used these ideas in a variety of ways, depending on the tenor of the times, but here is an especially pointed presentation. It's pure Carlin. I'll miss him.
